Civilized World Must Protect Iran and Consequently Itself

Just one look at the map will tell you...something ominous is brewing. Iran is completely surrounded by elements of the evil empire. Iran is on a hit list. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the empire has drawn up a hit list after which several countries, one after the other, have been ravaged after a plethora of lies and deception. No doubt this hit list was drawn up in Tel Aviv.

In over 200 years, Iran has done absolutely nothing to infringe on its neighbors. However, quite the contrary is true. Iran has suffered regime change before at the hands of outsiders and has not forgotten it.

For more than half a century, Britain and the US have menaced Iran. In 1953, the CIA and MI6 overthrew the democratic government of Muhammed Mossadeq, an inspired nationalist who had the nerve to believe that Iranian oil belonged to Iran. They overthrew him and installed the venal Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and, through a monstrous creation called Savak, built one of the most vicious police states of the modern era until the current leadership formed the Islamic Revolution.

Iran is a country of great history and culture, and a people that welcomed their Christian neighbors with open arms when they were under threat of total extinction.

Now we are supposed to believe that Iran has certain evil intents regarding Israel and incredibly the rest of the entire world. We are being lied to by the masters of lies, the father of lies. Let us start with this "wipe Israel off the map" stupidity to show the lowest depths these liars and merchants of war and genocide will sink. This is what President Ahmadinejad really said:

"Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad."

One word rings a bell here and stands out: rezhim-e. It is the word "Regime", pronounced just like the English word with an extra "eh" sound at the end. Ahmadinejad did not refer to Israel the country or Israel the land mass, but the Israeli regime.

This is a significant difference, as one cannot wipe a regime off the map. Ahmadinejad does not even refer to Israel by name, he instead uses the specific phrase "rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods" (regime occupying Jerusalem). So this raises the question.. what exactly did he want "wiped from the map"? The answer is: nothing. That's because the word "map" was never used. The Persian word for map, "nagsheh", is not contained anywhere in his original Farsi quote, or, for that matter, anywhere in his entire speech. Nor was the western phrase "wipe out" ever said.

Yet we are led to believe that Iran's President threatened to "wipe Israel off the map", despite never having uttered the words "map", "wipe out" or even "Israel".

According to Farsi-language experts like Juan Cole and even right-wing services like MEMRI, what he actually said was "this regime that is occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."

The current fuss about Iran's nuclear enrichment program is playing out so identically to US canards about Iraq's WMD that we must wonder why it is not meeting only roaring international derision. This is especially considering the multiple agendas obviously in play regarding Iran -- oil, US hegemony, Israel and neocon fantasies of a "new Middle East" mouthed by the liar of all liars, Condi Rice on behalf of the Bush administration.

On December 18, 2003, Iran signed the NPT (nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) Additional Protocol on Nuclear Safeguards, according greater access and the possibility of intrusive inspections to Iran's nuclear facilities by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This treaty specifically gives Iran the right to use nuclear energy for PEACEFUL purposes.

On the other hand, Israel sits on over 200 nuclear devices and refuses to sign the NPT. Israel's nuclear facilities are not available and totally closed for outside inspection by the IAEA.

Meir Dagan, the Chief of Mossad, told parliament members in his inaugural appearance before the Israeli Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Iran was close to the "point of no return" and that the specter of Iranian possession of nuclear weapons was the greatest threat to Israel since its inception.

But who are Israel, the USA or the west to speak about dishonesty, bad intentions, secret plans, dastardly threats and all sorts of other paranoid garbage?

Should Iran be attacked, the entire world could well be thrown into a world war. No matter what one thinks of the powers in charge of the Islamic republic, is this what you want in your future? Nuclear war or world war breaking out because of lies from liars with long track records of lies such as weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? Time for the civilized world to act in unison to stop the war pigs once and for all.

What NOAA Isn’t Saying About Snow and Ice

Steven Goddard
Watts Up With That
Tuesday, February 9, 2010

As reported on WUWT, NOAA is warning of “earlier snowmelt and extended ice-free seasons.” But what NOAA isn’t saying is that snow is falling earlier and heavier in the Northern Hemisphere. Rutgers University Global Snow Lab has reported that January was the sixth snowiest on record, and that six out of the last eight Januaries were above normal snowfall.

January, 2008 saw the second greatest snow extent ever recorded. December was the third snowiest on record in the Northern Hemisphere and seventeen out of last twenty-one Decembers were above normal snowfall. November was above normal snowfall and fifteen out of the last nineteen Novembers have had above average snowfall. October was the sixth snowiest October on record and seven out of the last ten Octobers have had above average snowfall.

The data shows unequivocally that snow is coming earlier and heavier than it used to. Perhaps the snow season is shifting, rather than shortening? NOAA’s failure to mention this is negligent at best.

As far as their claim of “extended ice free seasons” goes, Roger Pielke Sr. has reported :

The finding in this data is that there is no clear evidence of a delay in the start of the later summer/early fall freeze up or [an earlier] start of the late winter/early spring melt despite the well below average areal sea ice coverage.

So why isn’t NOAA highlighting the other half of the story? Do readers have any ideas?

Henry Paulson: My close ties with Wall Street were ‘a huge help’

David Edwards and Sahil Kapur
Raw Story
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

One thing most Democrats, Republicans and Americans of all ideological stripes seem to agree on is that their government is too cozy with Wall Street — and that that’s not a good thing.

The anger is largely rooted in the fact that the major financial institutions whose decisions helped cause this troubling recession were ultimately rewarded with massive rescue packages, and the public perception is they’ve since returned to business-as-usual.

The common belief is that this is because the government officials, notably in the Treasury Department, tends to look out for wealthy banks over average income earners. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, former chair of the New York Fed, routinely faces this charge from constituents and members of Congress.

But in an interview with CNN’s Christine Romans Wednesday, his Bush Administration predecessor Henry Paulson shone some light upon why he thinks the close ties between Treasury and Wall Street are a good thing.

“In hindsight it was a huge help,” Paulson said, when asked of his own history as former CEO of Wall Street giant Goldman Sachs.

“One of the things I brought to the table was understanding markets, understanding what was going on at the different financial institutions,” he continued. “And also, the fact that I’ve been a CEO helped me when it came to the decision-making process. I needed to be talking to the heads of all of the major firms.”

Few dispute Paulson’s claim that a strong understanding of markets is a necessary prerequisite for those in his former position. But the frequent complaint is that individuals with his kind of background tend to prioritize the well-being of his former colleagues over the general public.

“I was driven only by one thing, which was an understanding that if the system collapsed, the price would be paid by the American people,” Paulson said. “I certainly didn’t want to be the Treasury Secretary sitting in the seat when that happened.”

CNN’s Romans, reflecting on the interview, claimed Paulson criticized the large bonuses bank executives are receiving today as well as while he was heading Goldman Sachs.

Massive Wall Street bonuses are a central qualm of the public as millions of Americans are struggling and the unemployment rate hovers just under 10 percent. In 2009, current Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein was awarded $9 million in bonuses while JPMorgan Chase & Co. CEO Jamie Dimon received $17 million, according to Businessweek.

In 2005 alone, Paulson won $37 million in bonuses for his running of Goldman Sachs. In 2007, the New York Times pointed out that Paulson held a record for Wall Street executive compensation received in a year, though his compensation was bested by his successor, Lloyd Blankfein, who later received $67 million in compensation in a year.

Intelligence Community Sets Precedent for Exterminating U.S. Citizens

In the spring of 2009 the Department of Homeland Security published their Domestic Extremism Lexicon. This document expanded the scope of the DHS mission from hunting islamic suicide bombers an mass murderers to targeting American Anti-Abortionists, Tax Protesters, Constitutionalists and any other enemy of the state. This in itself was shocking enough but when combined with DHS’s Project Endgame is clear that the policy of the Department of Homeland Security is to round up illegal immigrants and “potential terrorists” / domestic extremists and lock them up in detention camps built by Halliburton subsidiary KBR.

You better support your government otherwise they might just send you to Auschwitz.

On February 4th Washington Times posted an article entitled ‘Permission’ Needed to Kill U.S. Terrorists. The article paints a picture of how inconvenient it is to get permission to kill overseas Al Qaeda members as it is just inevitable that they will be many casualties as a result of the war on terror, and how stupid it is to give Al CIA-Duh members constitutional rights. But looking beyond the most obvious implications of this article there are a few big question readers should also be asking. The first and most obvious is why National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair did not want to discuss the criteria for killing a ‘terrorist’ ? The second is why any US citizen would be denied the right of due process especially while facing a death sentence ? In the specific States in America in which the death penalty is permitted by law, capital punishment only doled out after a thorough investigation and TRIAL. But to overrule the justice system meant to protect Americans and to grant permission for an execution is a type of policy that would of put in place in Nazi Germany. When a government is given permission to exterminate its opponents without a real trial and real evidence a new precedent is set.

It now seems that labeling anti-abortionist extremists as enemies of the state and locking them up in detention camps is not audacious enough. In addition to indefinite detention of American citizens, the US government is now allowed to exterminate them with by merely asking (as the article put it) ‘permission’.

It’s expected that most would read this article and tell themselves “The Government wouldn’t exterminate an average American for opposing abortion”. Just remember policy is about what the Government is allowed to do not what it should do.

It’s time to wake up citizens, you are living in Nazi Germany. You better support your government otherwise they might just send you to Auschwitz.
